Basque Whisky

BIKKUN® Vatted Malt Whisky is a 100% malt whisky, the result of an international collaboration between the Álava distillery BASQUE MOONSHINERS and DISTELL International, owner of several top-tier Scottish distilleries, with products such as Deanston, Ledaig, and Bunnahabhain.

This whisky was crafted using smoked malt from the Scottish islands, as well as malt with a distinct "sherry" character from the Highlands; completing the blend with the characteristic BASQUE MOONSHINERS Single Malt aged in Rioja Alavesa barrels, also found in AGOT Single Malt Basque Whisky.

Tasting Notes

Natural old gold color. Bright and clear.

On the nose, we begin with a clear peat smoke hit and a slight hint of iodine; followed by sweet and fruity aromas. Pleasant cereal aroma combined with notes of pastry and nuts. Finally, subtle Sherry notes are appreciated.

On the palate, we discover a medium and unctuous body. We find notes of honey, licorice, and peat smoke that blend with spicy notes. Medium finish with sweet cereal notes and slightly bitter.

BIKKUN® Vatted Malt Whisky is unfiltered and uncolored for maximum flavor. With the addition of ice and/or water, it may show some turbidity, which is completely natural.
